What a good listing on Owna looks like, and what gets one sent back. Following these takes a few extra minutes and is the difference between a car that sells and a car buyers scroll past.

Photos

  • Take at least six, and twelve to twenty if you can. Listings with more photos get more messages.
  • Shoot in daylight, with the car clean. Cover all four corners, the front and rear, both rows of seats, the dashboard, the odometer, and the engine bay.
  • Use your own photos of your own car. Screenshots, manufacturer press images, and photos taken from another listing are removed.
  • Do not hide damage. Photograph it clearly instead. A buyer who finds a scratch in person walks away, and a buyer who saw it in the photos comes prepared to buy.

Get the numbers right

  • Enter the odometer exactly as it reads, and choose the correct unit. Imported cars often read in miles, and treating those as kilometres overstates the car by a wide margin.
  • Put the model year from the registration card, not the year you bought it.
  • Price in dirhams, and use the figure you would genuinely accept.

Describe it honestly

  • Accident history, repainted panels, and any warning light on the dashboard belong in the description.
  • Say who has serviced the car and roughly when it was last done.
  • If something does not work, write it down. It costs you nothing and saves both sides a wasted viewing.

Owna is owner to owner

  • List only a car you own, or one you are selling for the registered owner with their agreement.
  • Dealer and trade listings are removed. This is the whole point of the platform.
  • One listing per car. Duplicates are removed.

Not allowed

  • Phone numbers, prices, watermarks, or any text written onto the photos.
  • Titles padded with extra makes or models to catch searches.
  • Cars you do not have the right to sell, and anything that cannot legally be sold in the UAE.

After you submit

  • Every listing is checked automatically against its photos to confirm they show the car described.
  • If that check is confident, the listing goes live straight away. Anything uncertain waits for a person to look at it.
  • If a listing is sent back, you are told why, and you can edit it and submit again.
